Express Post non-delivery

Had 2 packages sent from Sydney yesterday, Express Post, sent at the same time, same post office, same person.

Only one arrived today. The other - tracking and insured - is a no show, and online shows NOTHING either except acceptance in Sydney.

Rang Australia Post, and all they said is wait till tomorrow - here was I believing that Express Post is guaranteed by 1730 the next day within the covered area - which both of us are.

So, assuming it is not lost/stolen and is just somehow delayed, do I/we have grounds for a refund on postage price? It cost $123 to post this particular item! Australia Post's website says:

If your Express Post envelope or satchel isn't delivered as promised, we'll replace your envelope or satchel with the equivalent envelope or satchel.

If your Express Post parcel isn't delivered as promised, we'll refund the cost of posting

Concerned at this stage, because a tripod without an EQ head is kind of redundantly useless!

I had a similar experience with an item coming down fron Brisbane. My local delivery guy said they don't guarantee next day delivery anymore. Have to wonder what the service will be like in the future.

Bite like a terrier and don't let go until you have your refund. (But don't be rude to local staff - they're not paid much).

You might want to write to the Minister for Communications (Malcolm Turnbull) or your federal MP about how this is a fine example of Ahmed Fahour (Aus Post CEO) not earning his $4.8m p/a salary.

Was delivered an hour ago. Postie said DEFINITELY file for postage refund, which my seller has started.

I was wrong - post was $116 - not an insignificant "Aw, fuggedaboutit" amount.

Nothing like a bit of tension to liven the day, huh?

Glad it's getting sorted!
