Jupiter 4 August

Seeing only fair tonight - mostly about 5/10, but with the Jetstream map showing Adelaide as the only place in the whole country not covered, I felt I had a duty to go out with the webcam.

Well done Graeme.

I was "eyeballing" Jupiter last night with my 8" f5 SkyWatcher newt and 6mm Vixen LV and it wasn't a pretty sight.

When I tried the ToUcam in the 3x barlow?

Forget it

I looked at Jupiter through the 8"SCT last night could not make out one detail, just one bright round blob shimmering away.
You are very lucky to get such a fine image.

Lucky to escape the jetstream! Looks like we'll be having several clear nights coming up, so fingers crossed.

Thanks for the comments.

Very nice Graeme! I've given up even looking at the Jetstream now it just depresses me and discourages me from going out imaging. No matter how it twists and turns Brisbane still lies at it's centre, at least in winter.

Anyway, well done
