Hi all,
Figured I have a crack at these 2 as I have the FOV to fit them comfortably in the frame.
Seeing last night was again fairly poor, with the bright moon and all.
I'm not so sure about the colour density or colour hue as there are so many different takes on these objects out there. This is my unmodified 1000D so it's not over-run by the red Ha clouds.
Details - captured in BY EOS and stacked in Nebulosity 3, processed in Star Tools and tweaked a bit in Gimp.
25 x 120 seconds guided, 15 darks, no bias or flats.
Seems that the camera must have slightly rotated during the 1 hour or so capture as the first stack showed rotation on the side that didn't have the registration star. Re-stacked using transform + rotate and it solved the problem.
Advice and suggestions always welcome as its only my 5th image to date.
I think you are right Kevin, the starfield is a little harsh. All in all, not the easiest image to get the balance right. Oh well, plenty more ways to play with the data.
Thanks Raymo and Dunk
