Widefields from Snake Valley

Ok, I know they ain't great but they were only trials.

The reason these pics were taken was as a very quick demonstration to Daniel and Leon at the recent Meteor night to show them how to do a quick widefield shot by just plonking the Modded Toucam on a table with NO scope attached and set the exposure for 35 seconds and press 'Start'.

That's all there was to it, but rather than delete them from the pooter I thought I would stick them in here.

They were not focused properly and were done on a slightly wobbly table and also done very quickly. Sorry for the poor images, I don't particularly like them but someone might!

Lack of tracking has also given slight star trails especially on Scorpy and Saggy. Crux was a little more forgiving.

Philips ToUcam 840k Pro II, no optical assistance, 35 seconds, captured in Desire, Processing in PaintShop Pro to tone down the red. The size has been reduced for posting (in other words, the original size is even worse ).

Pic 2: A Blurry Sagittarius
Pic 3: A Reasonable Crux

These are really good given the limitations/circumstances.
Can you piggyback the toucam?
I think you might have started a "Toucam Deepsky" subsection!
Cheers for sharing them.

Thanks Doug,

But they are certainly pretty rough. No care was put into taking them as it was for a Demo only

Yes you can also piggy-back a Toucam. It has the mounting thread underneath.
