RC-GN 1060 galaxy cluster

Hi All,

This cluster of galaxies is located in Hydra, These are my favorite types of imaging.

Planewave cdk 12.5 @f8
SBIG STL11000
Paramount ME
Internal guide chip guiding.
Lum: 1x1 20min exposures for 10hrs.
RGB: 2x2 10min exposures 3 hrs each filter for 9hrs total.
19hrs total

That's a great image. I love the small galaxy left of the bright lower orange star - it looks like a spiral ploughing straight into another galaxy.

Fantastic group of galaxies Joshua. The 2 bright stars are kind of distracting your galaxies, I wish there is a way to cut down their halo, brightness? Just my taste of course. Cheers David

You seem to be well in control of the star shape issue as well - what did you do to fix it?

That's very nice data Josh. It's an amazing section of sky; well done with the framing.

Those super bright yellow stars are certainly extremely bright [4.8mag + 6.8mag], and I think the field looks very interesting, with lots to look at indeed. It's no doubt a tough target, with those close in galaxies captured being all dimmer than -12mag, some I can see dimmer than -15mag to -16mag. It's a hard combination of bright stars with very dim galaxies!

Thanks Ray, star shapes are all good now, scope just needed something I think this did it.
