We have some very bad bushfires around Brisbane at the moment and last night was terrible when one saw the amount of smoke lying over suburbia. The sunset images were taken from Mt Coot-tha and the smoke haze is quite evident but as you can see in the images taken from my place about 3 or 4 hours later the smoke layer is very thick!
Yeah it's pretty ugly atm. I'm tossing up whether to go out tonight or night. Though I hate wasting a night of no cloud, even though the transparency is up the spout.
btw Peter I called in to see you Tuesday last week (15th), I managed to slip away from my gaggle of students for half an hour. Unfortunately there must have been a show on as the doors were locked. I'll definitely let you know next time we are heading to the Bot Gardens, though there is no guarantee I can get away.
