David Malin will be the speaker at the next meeting of the Astronomical Association of Queensland at Queensland University at 4pm on 14 June and local Ice in Space members are welcome to attend.
David’s presentation will be on “The Colour of the Night Sky”. David will talk about the origins and appearance of the brightness and colour variations in the night sky and demonstrate their surprising range of hues and structure. He will also cover the scientific basis for thinking about the natural colours of astronomical objects, a serious issue for amateur astrophotographers.
David’s talk will be part of the usual AAQ monthly meeting, however the business part of the meeting will be kept to a minimum to allow maximum time for the talk including plenty of time for questions.
Visitors are welcome to stay for a chat over supper after the meeting.
Attached is a flyer that provides more information on the event including how to get there.
I am very happy to respond to any queries.
