Here's a white light image from today's eclipse using a Unitron 4" f15, Herschel wedge, Nikon D800, 1000th second at ISO100.

Quite pleased with this one, I've always been distracted with the H-alpha imaging.
cheers,
Andrew.

Thanks - I've got a soft spot for the old Unitrons, it was the scope I learned the sky on many decades ago. So I keep giving them a home...
Here's a few more pictures from today including one of the scopes.
cheers,
Andrew.

The Herschel wedge was the way to go. I got some nice photos with my 7D. Great capture Andrew. We had a good opportunity this time over here in the west.

Darrin...

Is the brighter edge around the Moon's shaddow in the raw or processing artefact?

Thanks Roger - I used a 3 pixel radius sharpener in photoshop which produced that, there's definitely no atmosphere on the moon
Cheers,
Andrew.

Damn, thought you might have been on to something there

Maybe use layers and different unsharp radius's to blend and hence remove the edge artifact.
