Partial eclipse from Perth

Well we had great weather here just a little cloud at the start so I missed 1st contact but it cleared away after about 5 niniutes with a few passing over for the 4 odd hours of this event so all in all it was a success.

I took over 200 photos using my hi-tech gear , my Windows 1020 phone hand held over the eyepiece .

Gear used was my Istar 127mm doublet fitted with Hershell wedge and 12.5mm ED eyepiece fitted wit a variable polarising filter .

I will post these in groups of 5 starting with the start ( 5 miniutes after first contact 1.17pm due to clouds ) thru to last contact at 4pm .

Here goes , this is for everyone who missed it due to the weather .

Brian.

Finally a close up using my 3mm LP eyepiece at 333x close up of the large sunspot group and the moon , hand held and really hard to do .

Also a couple of the gear used , see my mate being spell bound as its his first look thru any scope and especially this special event .

Hope you all enjoyed these photos , it was a big afternoon as I had 6 people around to watch it with me .
Notice the fashionable Bundy T-shirt sun shade .

You got some good pics, Brian.
Sydney was cloudy, but I did get a quick look through some thinning cloud.

Thanks for those views Brian, it is very interesting to see how high your ‘scope is pointing compared to the on-the-horizon event in Brisbane!

Love the sophisticated head cover to block out the daylight!

Nice to see a ”spotty” Sun as well, it adds a bit of extra interest too!

Cheers

Dennis

Nice one Brian, glad you got to see it. Some of us have to work inside, so didn't get a chance to have a look.

Cheers Pete
