Searching blinks out on android.

Hello, just wondering why I cannot do a search in ice in space using my tablet. Perhaps it's just one of the many things in which pc's still have the upper hand over android. I dont have an ipad or iphone so dont know if these would be any better. Anyway, if I try to search using my samsung galaxy note 10.1 the search blinks out. Ie I am unable to go further than hitting go after entering my keywords - the search stops, nothing happens. On a pc I can get the captcha, enter the code and complete the search - not possible on my tablet. Could there be something I am doing wrong? Or not doing? Thanks.

No issues here with a Nexus7(2013) running 4.2.2 and Chrome.

I have never seen a Captcha on this site, are you logged in when using search?

Make sure you're logged in before trying? Then you won't get the captcha?

I have the same problem on my iPhone, when logged in the search box comes up but as soon as soon as I type something in, it disappears.

Cheers
Jo

Have just tested and that happens for me too Jo, but I always use the Advanced Search rather than the drop-down, so not a problem for me really.

Thanks MrB, your advice to Jo - "advanced search" works for me.
Cheers,
Claire.
