Mars 16 April 1217UT

Imaged Mars last night in fairly jittery seeing but managed to pick up a reasonable image of the boring side of Mars.

Hoping a clear patch forecast next week will produce some nice seeing.

This is about 3000 frames from the red channel, 2000 from the green and 1500 from the blue. The ASI120 produced 8500 frames in the red channel from 90 seconds with a 3/4 histogram.

A little noisy and with some artefacts from the processing but an ok result.

That is a very nice image scale Paul. Given the twin impediments of less than perfect seeing and imaging the more “boring” side of Mars, it has still scrubbed up rather well with some nice tones and detail in those features that are visible.

Cheers
