Mars and ND Filter

Does anyone use ND filters on Mars and is there a positive result or does it drown it out too much? I would like to know before I purchase. I have a beautiful big red disc in my 12" Newt using a 6.7mm EP but it is almost blinding. Thanks.

Hi John
I have been trying out different filters on mars and found that the moon filter is the best. As you said it's very bright. It just cuts the glare down and allows a little more magnification possible in my eyes.
Buy one, you won't be disappointed.
