Distorted southern spiral galaxy NGC1532 repro with more colour

I took this one back around the New Years period but had some slight difficulty in processing it. Just finished it off.

TEC180 fluorite, SX Trius 694, PMX.

I just added 200 minutes of CDK17 luminance to the image. Its brought out more fine detail in the galaxy centre area. Same links.

Nicely done Greg and very smooth. I really like the small galaxy that seems to be falling into the middle of the larger one.

In the early versions I did the stretching made the stars go whack and also the galaxy halo showed better but too much at the expense of detail and colour.

Cheers Ray. I have some CDK data for this as well. I should do a combined image and build it up with even more detail. Some of the CDK data was taken on some nights of good seeing and the downloads were very impressive.

Thanks Rick. I plan to combine data from a couple of scopes to get more out of it as well.

Thanks Glen. I am enjoying this round of imaging galaxies. I have a few to process I have taken. Plus some LMC nebulas that are very nice as well.

Thanks Ross. I have been thinking the same thing. Posting on a website is good but ulimately all these images we take need a more permanent
storage. There's so much work that's gone into making these.

Thanks Rod. It was good to have a break at processing this one and come back to it. The original version was not so good.

Great image Greg, colour looks good and there's some really good detail showing there too

Funny this is another galaxy, along with the Meat Hook, that I've not felt the urge to image, something about both galaxies doesn't grab me..? It's my problem, not the galaxies I think

Mike

Thanks very much Clive. Colour is a tricky area and one I have worked on to try to get right.

I quite like this one but certainly some objects are more photogenic than others and that will be different for different people.
