So beautiful. Thanks for posting Tom. I get a stiff neck from craning out the window sometimes when its dusk coming down through clouds. Isn't it wonderful to see the view from the front. I do recall some hair raising sights as a passenger landing in Queenstown years ago - just how close those snow capped peaks seem to be
It's so awesome sitting on top of a hill near a snow chain area atop the Remarkables and watch the planes come in to land and take off. The sound of the engines rumbling up there is awesome.
The closest I've got to that was one morning in 1975 on the bunny hop from Sydney to Canberra. Over Lake George the pilot said Canberra was closed with fog, and he had enough fuel to circle for 2.5 hours before he had to return to Sydney.
He'd just started to circle to the south east of Canberra when he banked hard right and landed. Even before he turned off the runway he announced the airport had been closed as soon as he had wheels down.
I guess some pollie was prepared to risk everyone on board to get to a meeting.
I have been in some military planes flying into stuff like that.
Scary stuff ,that's why it is best you don't see whats happening from the front.

Anyone care to take a guess what the object is in the top right hand corner of the screen that disappears at 1:13 and reappears briefly at 2:44 before entering the clouds?
