Saturn and Mars 30th Jan

After frustrating couple of days trying to get my notebook functioning properly again I finally managed to gain access to Friday morning datasets stored on the new SSD drive. I had to revert back to native Win7 x64 drivers in order for the thing to be recognised again

Here's my first go at Saturn this year and some continuing Mars efforts.. Seeing wasn't as good in the direction of Mars which is evident on f40 capture but I am pretty happy with the f30 shot taken later in the morning. Used 1000 best frames for the photo montage of the two planets.

Elysium cloud is very prominent but there is also a hint of dust storm(?) happening west of Hellas. Reading Trevor's earlier post it may be the dune field left by the receding north polar cup.

Thanks Trevor & Col.

I am quite pleased with the Saturn result, a definite improvement over my last capture this time last year. Will consider using higher f ratios as the planet gets higher.

For some reason drizzling didn't work too well on this dataset.

Cheers,
Sebastian

Very nice images Seb - sounds like you also have an ASI120 camera on the way so things will get even better no doubt!
