Whilst doing a run of nebula imaging last night, I started doing sets of galactic plane images with our house as a focal point.
As you can see, I have had to fight EXTREME light pollution (sodium vapour lamp lower left - one of 30 in our area, 200 metres apart!), but am reasonably happy with the result. SLIGHT trailing on magnification, but I still like it.
Canon 5D MkII, ISO 2000, f/3.2 on a prime 50mm lens, 20 sec. exposure (might make it 15 next time and bump the ISO slightly). Only 1 image - no stacking for a change

Shame Rho Ophiuchi is JUST behind the steeple point - you can JUST see the dust arm heading towards the hidden Antares.
Anyway, comments and criticism welcome.
