Nice first pic. That's goto please you. Agree on the black pont and nice to see a little more colour. There are no rules really, and whatever you like best. Nice focus and detail.. Well done Marios

Mario's, here is a link to a site that might help you. It does not relate to astronomy directly, but it will give you an idea http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/levels.htm

It's when you use levels and slide the left hand slider too far into the histogram. This will cause clipping of the blacks. You will get a blacker image, but will cut out detail and clip edges. Anyway I am no expert either, but the link will give you an idea as it relatives to image processing in general.

Regards
Mardy

Ahhh now Im with you yes the black slider, I deliberately went a bit darker to drown out the background noise caused by the haze last night. Thanks for the link!

Yes Mardy has a good explanation. With deep sky photos, it's a good idea to leave just a little bit of brightness in the dark regions as there's often still some faint traces of nebula or other objects of interest.

Hi Marios,

Nice start, your actually got some nice data there !
Hope you dont mind but I had a play with your image. You've actually got a lot of detail in there. I've stretched it a bit but its there.

Thanks Paula, I have got some ways to go with PS. The image itself is about 6.3 minutes of data at 30 sec & 60 se shots.

On that note I did try using light room found the controls to be very simple.
