Exclamation Designers - help me with IISAC2014 t-shirt design?

Hey all

Wondering whether to do a different style of t-shirt for IISAC2014.

The t-shirt design has typically been the 'logo' for the year on a black t-shirt. We tried a different style of design for 2008, and a white t-shirt for 2009, and both of those didn't sell as well as previous or subsequent years.

Any designers out there want to submit a possible design for the IISAC2014 t-shirt? I'd need to finalise it in the next week or two at the latest, so not a lot of time.

I could run a poll to pick the best (if multiple submitted), or I can just choose my favourite We'll see how many submissions there are (if any )

We can discuss compensation if required, either with free t-shirts or something else. PM me if you have any questions or need any design elements / logos etc.

Cheers and thanks

I would buy the 3rd one. I think the shirts with the giant pictures is just a bit too much for my taste. Although, I would consider the 5th one too.

Hi Mike,
I have an idea for a black t-shirt showing a map of a Meteor shower that is due when IISAC is on.

The LYRIDS are due from April 16th to the 25th.
They look like they will peak on the 22nd and 23rd just before the IISAC , however they should still put on a show ( hopefully ).

See map of the shower as a possible guide to a t-shirt design.... Note that this map was just taken at random from the Web.
Maybe you could use an actual image that you have taken, or use one from an IIS member with their permission.

Put me down for a few large meteor ones for a fella who seems to be getting larger as he gets older......that's another story....

Hope this helps.

Geoffro

I had another version with a border around the image and a bit different but I seem to have lost it but I could re do it I guess.

I have picked a picture from IIS user 'nebulosity' simply because I like the pic but it could be replaced.

Hey Mike, Why not make a competition out of this, I'm sure you could get some free prizes from your sponsors. Could be a lot of fun too, people that are not designers have good ideas too..

I prefer minimalist designs, like the 2008 & 2009 versions. Then I'm more likely to wear it around non-astronomers!

I liked your design Peter, and used that as a basis to make this one.

Hopefully it can be printed ok.

I'll be in touch!

I acknowledge the other comments about simple design, but ran out of time to come up with anything suitable for this year. I'll look into it for next year and/or as a generic IIS shirt design.

The logo should say on the opposite side "Astronomers do it in the dark!"
IMO
