First image for 2014.
Shot under challenging conditions from my suburban Melbourne backyard. 18 x10 mins. I used an IDAS LP filter but there were still some massive gradients to deal with... dunno why I do this to myself, who else is crazy enough to shoot OSC RGB from light pollutionville?
Can't help but think that how amazing this object could look in Ha under dark skies. (Sigh)
This is of course the Seagull Nebula, but I cannot fit it all in my FOV. So is it just me or does the portion showing here kinda look like Scooby Doo?
