more solar work 11 January 2014 - DMK41 on AR1944

back to my trusty DMK41 where i used it on white light and some Ha work. I took over 60gig of data this morning and its a pain to process - very long. had to use the DMK for everything after i broke my ASI120MM

first was with the 127ed and baader solar wedge, the other two were with the Lunt 60 single stack

Lovely detail and granulation in the WL image Dave, although it looks like you may have lost some detail in the umbral regions – they look too black on my screen?

Is the ASI damage recoverable or are you back with the DMK full time now?

Cheers

Dennis

as for the ASI - not sure - may work fine as a guide cam but not for planet and solar work. the DMK is just not sensitive enough to give a better dynamic range, to get the granulation i set it so i could see it on my monitor, but that came at a loss for some of the detail of the sunspot - i know that live and learn
