Comet 2013A1 Siding Spring

Hi all
Tis been a while since my last astro image but got the gear out last night to have a go at this faint comet. I could not see it so trusted the Argo Navis to locate it. Wasnt far off

3x10 mins ISO200 UV/IR filter. MPCC coma corrector modded 350D 10 inch f5.6 hand guided.

Nice pic of a faint fuzzy, with tail even!

Interesting choice of ISO. Is the 350D most happy at ISO 200?

Its more a factor of light pollution. Using higher then 200ISO and 10 minute exposure would come out too light. If I was shooting under a dark sky Id use ISO400. As it was Id have been better off using ISO400 and 5 min subs as the comet moved a fair bit even in 10 minutes.

tried this lastnight with the 80mm scope, I can see a smudge in the frames and it moves when animated, but thats all the detail I can get. Will try again once my 8" scope arrives Nice work though, difficult target at 15th mag.

There was someone on the comet watch facebook page that got it with a 200mm lens!

From here I'd be struggling with anything I can shoot through. It's going to get closer so I'll wait a bit, unless I get bored lol.

Impressive result there tornado Mag 15, a great challange accomplished, 10mins subs hand guided, extraordinary with those stars, they are impessively round
