Daytime Venus 3.2% illuminated

Hi Guys,

Here is the final stacked and processed image of Venus taken this afternoon (about 12pm local time). It was ,as a matter of fact, my 2nd attempt ever to find Venus during daytime. The crystal blue sky today in Kuala Lumpur was a rare opportunity indeed.

Stacked the best 200 frame via Autostakkert.
Final processing via PixInsight.

Date: 2 Jan 2014 12.00pm MYT (0400 UTC).
3.2% Illuminated, 15 deg from Sun

That's a great effort Shah!

Some of us would be very weary of pointing our scopes that close to the Sun

I've done it in the past with a 6'' Dob but would be scared to do the same with a more expensive gear..

Rgds,
Seb

Thanks Seb,

My scope has been bathing under the sunlight for sunspots imaging before, so I 'think' it can handle it!

But it was pretty close to the sun , and I wouldn't look for Venus manually, and rely heavily from the control softwares in my observatory!
