Change of avatar

I know this is pointless pap but I changed my avatar to an image of myself at 24 (1973) rather than the wizened fisheye image taken many years later.

My youngest brother number eleven has said for years it makes me look deranged. He urged me to change my avatar as it put him off. It has run its race as that was the idea!

I was a young long haired drug (alcohol) taking hippie then.

My job was at Kodak and a certain Zwiggy had the office next door to me.

You silly twisted boy! It was so the lab coat did not get lost!

We had a freshly laundered lab coat available at all times.

In the days before bar codes we had one we wore. One in the locker and one in the laundry.

If you did not clearly mark your lab coat on the OUTSIDE the system would lose it.

Believe it or not it was about the time this picture was taken that CMOS circuitry was starting to really work.

Looks perfectly normal to me. I like the idea Bert, prehaps you've started a trend for the new year, we should all change our avatars to twenty something.

Great photo Bert,
Did you ever attend any of Ian Hutchinson's (RMIT Opthalmic Studies, Franklin St Building) Friday chats?
Gregory Brown.

Good one Bert! Don't worry, I can still see the seeds of derangement in that earnest young man. We all change. Don't you love it when you run into someone you haven't seen for decades and they tell you that you haven't changed a bit. My automatic response is "Geez, did I always look this bad?".

Cheers -

I was also known 'as that bloke that has the nerve to wear a pink shirt and have long hair!'

This was in an era where white shirts were the go for real males unsure of their sexuality. Only a poof would wear pink!

No one ever confronted me to my face about this. They just sniggered behind my back, showing their own idiocy and total ignorance.

They knew I would give them a smack if they did.

When I first saw this thread, I thought you had decided to use Hollywood actors as your avatar.

Has anyone else confused you with Dean Stockwell?
