etas emu

hello members very excited to see the darkest skies i have seen for a few years in capel WA last night
i only brought my 60da, a tripod and my samyang 35mm stopped to the one between f1.4 and 2.8
this is the result
23 10s exposures (using the 500 rule)
23 darks
any advice on processing welcomed
pat
oh yes it was cropped to get the sharpest stars

Very nice pat, great result.
Would you care to elaborate on the 500 rule?
I tend to tone down slightly on the red and blue channels in order to get a more natural look, but that's strictly a personal choice.
Cheers,
Bo

thanks bo
the 500/600 rule is getting away with round stars untracked......... so i used a 35mm lens, divide this by 500 and you get roughly 14, but because the 60d is not full frame we then have to divide the 14 by 1.6 (crop sensor) and i get a (nearly) 10 second exposure on a fixed tripod
i think i agree with it being a bit vegasesque, might try a toned down one

Thanks pat, will keep the 500 rule tucked away for future reference.
Cheers,
Bo

without wanting to overstretch(?) my post ha ha..... i think this is a better rendition after some comments
i also cropped it differently and put my mates bush at the bottom ( and no i do not want to rephrase that!) to give that amazing sky some perspective
