What happened here?

Hi Folks

I re-visited the Flame and Horse Head nebulas to collect some more data and got this:

To the best of my knowledge the dew heaters were doing their job and I wasn't aware that it had happened until after all the images had been collected - and it was in all ten.

Any thoughts on what causes this type of flaring?

TYAIA

Paul

PS Would I be right in thinking that I can use a layer mask to remove it whilst still using the data for the fainter nebulous regions?
