My wife Kathy and I recently stayed at our favourite Bed & Breakfast in the Barossa Valley.
It has a private lake situated on 40 acres with some wonderful old outbuildings.
This is the first time I've tried a lake night scape, it took quite a bit of scouting around to find the best shots, particularly to get the reflections right.
Orion image. This is a 3 panel mosaic, it was the only way I could get the whole scene, the reflection of Orion was only 2 metres in front of me.
Southern Cross. This is a single frame. I disturbed a fox trying to get a duck dinner while setting up for this shot, it stood behind me for quite while, eyes glowing in the torch light, a little unnerving while trying to take images.
Pleiades. 3 panel mosaic.
Camera. Canon 1100D, 18 to 55mm zoom at 18mm, ISO 3200, 30 sec exposures.
Nice shots, Justin. I like the Orion image especially. A few years back I stayed at a B and B just outside of Tanunda and took my scope up there to do some observing for a few days. The skies were actually not especially dark.

Thanks Graeme!
Actually pretty good skies at this location, It's closer to Eden Valley than Tanunda or Angaston.
Still quite a glow from Adelaide though!
