What I got for Christmas

My two children gave me a bottle of Glen Moray.
The bottle was still warm after being in a hot car when I opened it. Inside, above the whisky, I saw, for a brief instant, a cone of fine lines radiating inwards from the bottle wall. A couple of the lines were branched.
The whisky vapour had acted as a cloud chamber, capturing the paths of a spray of particles from a cosmic ray interacting at the bottle wall.
I wish I could have photographed this, but it is something I will never forget.
