Friday 20th December 2013 at 0841...
...our daughter Viktoria was born, weighing in at 3.404 kg, with a full head of red hair and in perfect condition
Mum is recovering exceedingly well, and was up and walking (in a limited way) today.
I watched and filmed the entire Caesarian, and we are both still amazed at how quickly it all happened, especially in comparison to the traumatic 26 hour labour of our first child.
Both should be home before Christmas. The BEST Christmas present imaginable.

Oh, what a difference a hlaf day can make in a newborn!
She's NOT red haired it seems - rather, she's mousey blonde - just a tinge of red. A fantastic baby - passed all the paediatrician tests with flying colours, responds rapidly to stimuli etc. Pooping, farting, belching... ah, memories of No1 But not a great deal of crying - she's a quiet girl surprisingly! Midwife showed me how to wrap them to stop crying (versus the traditional Russian way), and it darned well works almost instantly!
I am knackered again... perfect night here (well, for NB imaging anyway), but I just don't feel like the 30 minute set-up and carry in and out. YAWN...

what a difference
Nice one Lewis!
Am myself just getting to grips with our new daughter, Jeanie Claire, born four weeks early, she is now 8 weeks old and they say another child is not 50% more work, more like 5 x more work!. The other daughter (Sadie Carole) has taken it well so far except every toy given to Jeanie is hers first!
Great xmas pressie though.
(Although the vixen eyepieces and the microfocuser for the C8 would make a nice stocking filler for me!)
Enjoy!
Merry xmas to you and yours
Graham.

Thanks again everyone.
Viktoria became more jaundiced ysterday, so she's currently lit up like a Christmas tree with the UV bedding. When I left her last night, she had been on it for about 8 hours, and already marked improvment. Plus Mum's collostrum finished with the milk starting, so that will kick start the liver and kidneys Watching her receive the first milk was amazing. She took the first taste...backed off at this new sensation, then dove back on it quick smart! Then she didn't want to stop...
Anyway, back I go this morning soon. Wife is up and moving WELL by herself, so she MIGHT be out today or tomorrow. Waiting for the second delivery to occur.... (those who have had abdominal surgery know exactly what I mean )
