A Horse is a Horse, of course of course...

Sorry, couldn't resist the title song from Mr. Ed.

Must be spring racing carnival or something as horses are popping up everywhere! Here's my first crack at this ol' chestnut. Shot on a rare clear night from the burbs in Melbourne.

24 x 10 mins (4hrs crikey!) SBIG OSC with IDAS filter in place, darks etc.

I know, I know - it's another cliche image, but I've ticked that box now.
Time to move on to fresh targets.

Anyway, thanks for looking.

Andy

That's showing some good detail Andrew!

And don't beat yourself up over imaging this region, it's a right of passage for all us imagers.

Also a great standard candle we can check against other images to see how well we are going.

Cheers,

Justin.

Very nice Andy. I had a go at this on sat night but I didn't get enough data and too much noise when stretched. So this is something for me to look at anyway

Very nice! The perks of an OSC good job on the processing and length of exposure. That's how DSO imaging should be

Don't underplay it - I reckon this composition is about as good as it gets in terms of the strange beauty of the night sky ...

Folks, you're all very kind, thanks for the encouragement!

Jo41, of course you can do this too - hey, I only started doing AP 18 months ago, still lots to learn! The folks on this forum are wonderfully supportive.

Cheers

Andy

Also images like these help beginners get into the hobby as it shows what beginners can achieve.
