So I lit a match.......

BBQ-Boy was at it again.
I was bored last night, the moon was full and I had an itching to do some photography.
So I checked the home insurance policy.... yep it's current and away I went.

Got this shot of a match just as it was lighting up.

Don't try this at home, I nearly burnt my eyebrows.

Stunning! Very well done.

How many matches did you go through? What FL and shutter did you use?

You guys crack me up.

Believe it or not I only went through 4 or 5 matches.
The first couple were tests and then I got the shot.
(minus 2 fingers and eyebrows.....smoke alarm went off and woke the whole family)

Mike this was taken at 65mm macro with a long exposure of 8 sec @ f/16 and 100 ISO.
Used fill flash as well.

I've got some other shots too which I'll post later including some grass growing for Striker....

Ethan.

Andrew,

The Tracking must have been spot on! No image shift!!!

and flames run along a match pretty quick. Which tracking speed did you use: Sidereal? Lunar? Solar? Redhead?
