LMC from Flinders Ranges, South Australia

The night sky from the Flinders Ranges is just amazing.
We stayed for only 2 nights, a great trip, if too short.
I took over 500 photos in 3 days.
Here is one from the second night, with some cloud cover.
Thanks for looking.

Yes the night sky over the Flinders is stunning

Where did you shoot this from?

Last summer I spent a night at Hawker.. Dark skies but 40 deg plus

Definitely a winter destination

We stayed at Rawnsley Park Station, a lovely location and close to Wilpena Pound. I took heaps of photos during the day at Brachina and Bunyeroo Gorges.
Thanks for the kind comments.

Ah yes

This is the place that has retractable ceilings so you can see the sky from your bed?

Sounded fantastic, sadly was a bit pricey for me..but now I wish I had spent the extra.

Don't they also have some early morning flights/ balloon rides over the Pound?
Will just have to go another time when I have saved up enough

I didn't know about the retractable ceilings.
Will have to ask about that next time.
They do have flights over the Pound, I am not good in small aircraft.
