Tarantula, another one!!

Hi,

Sorry about bombarding everyone with all the images recently, but I'm having fun!

This is the first Tarantula I've done that I'm happy with. It's a tricky procedure to get the red in the Tarantula with a standard DSLR image.

With the help of Louie's tutorials and a bit of experimenting I finally have something reasonable.

Cheers,

Justin.

Quite happy with the detail, so easy to destroy when processing.

Cheers,

Justin.

All of my Tarantula images are blue. The entire nebula is swimming in blue. The red to me just appears "wrong", but like I said that's because when I image it I capture no red).

Your image is really good a credit to your processing and capturing alike.

Looks great Justin. FoV shows all the cool knots of nebulosity. The area is OIII rich so that explains the strong signal. Thats the major advantage of monochrome imaging with filters, maximise signal per filter and determine how you want to handle each channel. Well done.

Thanks Cameron!

It certainly looks different in the red, the balance is not correct for all the nebs, but I'm happy with this result.

Thanks Jase!

Must take quite a while to work out the balance needed when using mono with filters.

Thanks Ross!

Probably a bit too colourful, but I like strong vivid colours.
Best bit about it, being able to have the colours to preference.
Of course that's more of the art side, of astro imaging.

Cheers,

Justin.
