EQ8 Has anyone mounted an EQ8 on their existing Pier?

Has anyone mounted an EQ8 on their existing Pier?
I have a steel pier with a EQ6 mount and want to update to the EQ8. Would a new mounting plate be required to mount the EQ8?

Has anyone been able to buy a mount only configuration (I.e. no pier/tripod) of the EQ8 in Australia (as available in UK)?

My last pier was way too wide for the EQ8 unfortunately and limited the movement past the meridian horribly, so I had a new pier made up. On the plus side, it is the easiest mount to build a pier/plate for as it uses a flat base.

It should be possible to get the mount minus the tripod, but it would come as a special order. Talk to your favourite supplier!
