Jove Nov 17th + UV animation of Venus cloud movement.

Hi All,

Imaged Jupiter this morning in average seeing. Have attached 1 742nm IR data set. The IR has quite a bit of detail in it. There is a nice row of 4 tiny white ovals lined up along the edge of the STB along with an interesting formation of tiny dark spots in the STrZ. The wake following the GRS is still quite turbulent and there are some some prominent festoons in the EZ.

Have also attached an animation of the cloud movement on Venus in UV over a 48 hr period, Nov 16, 17 & 18th.

Regards
Trevor

Thanks to all for the positive feedback. Imaged Venus again this evening and have updated my animation. Unfortunately the seeing was not as good as for the previous 3 days but still have some reasonable cloud detail

Thanks Guy's,

Seb, although the rotation rate of Venus is quite slow, its day is longer than its year, at high alt the winds are very strong and these high alt cloud features complete a rotation around the planet in just under 4 Earth days.

Stuart, I use some rather old software, PSP 8, which back then came with "Animation Shop". It can be launched from the main "File" menu from the "Jasc Software Products" tab.
