4 Panel Mosaic NGC 253 & NGC288.

Hi,

This is a mosaic I've always wanted to do!

Globular cluster NGC 288 deserves to be in the same image as NGC 253.
It's one the best of the globular's, so colourful.

5 minute subs, 60 minute and 30 minute panels.

Equipment used.
8” F/4 astrograph , baader type coma corrector,. HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Camera.
Unmodded Cannon 1100D.
Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker.

Stitched with ICE.
Processed in Photoshop 7.

Cheers,

Justin.

The mosaic came out well. Better res than the single ED80 frame I did a while ago.

Well done Justin. Even with four panels it sure is a tight fit for these two celestial targets. Enjoyed the colours you've presented too. More please!

You love doing mozaics. But when you are on a good thing you should stick to it.

And you do know how to pick your targets and get them looking superb.

Yet again I like the sense of proportion you are putting into the sky, fires the imagination.

Worth the imaging that's for sure.

Thanks Jase!
I can't compete with some of the stunning images produced by dedicated CCD imagers.
So I'm making the most of mosaics, which seems ideal for DSLR work.

Cheers,

Justin.

Another superb mosaic, Justin. If you feel like another giant mosaic after the SMC, NGC 247 is only 5 degrees away...

Thanks Dave!

That would be a giant, about 18 panels minimum with NGC 288 in it.

Cheers,

Justin.

Or even Omega and the little galaxy cluster centred around NGC 4945.

Very nice Justin! I did this pair with a telephoto lens many years ago. I think that many people don't realize how close these two objects are in the sky.

Cheers

Yep, I guess that's what happens when we're all constrating on NGC 253.

I'm surprised a mosaic of this area is not done more often.

Cheers,

Justin.
