A gas giant with no home star

Hi,

I think this is fascinating:

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-10-1...-space/5013996

Apparently the planet does have a heat signature. What are the implications? What would conditions there be like? Is it like a sort of mini self contained solar system, all-in-one?. Even.........is some sort of life possible?

What a strange universe.
