Starfest Siding Spring 2013

I don't know whether anyone has seen this yet, but it should be on your calendar of star parties for 2013.

https://www.facebook.com/SSOStarFest

It should be a great event!

Cheers
John

Can anyone access the Starfest home page? Their server seems to be offline or something. starfest.org.au is the address I'm trying to access but it goes nowhere.

Peter, http://www.starfest.org.au/ is working

Some people do not set up their DNS and web server to accept the name without the www

Hi Andrew, and thanks. However, I still can't load their home page - either in Safari or the dreaded IE. Just won't load no matter what.
Funny.
I was toying with the thought of going down for the weekend but the gods are telling me something I think. Pity because the astro in the Pub seemed like a hoot as did the SSO tour and all the rest.
Ever see that Toyota advert with the dog that jumps for the farmer's ute and misses - landing in the mud. The voice-over is a classic. "Bugger!" the dog says. That says it for me too.

Was down there last week. If you do go, don't go down the newell hi-way. It's as boring as a drive could possibly be. Straight, flat, featureless. New England is longer but not as boring. However most trucks (B-Doubles) go that way. And I just found out, NSW has double demerits and double fines if caught speeding in school holidays. I'm waiting for the photos to arrive

I've just arrived and it's scattered cloud and wind presently but looks like it will be clear. Hopefully I'll have the chance to catch up with a few you Friday night at the club.
Paul
PS After tomorrow night I'll have a particularly nice photo of Gum 85 to share with you all.

We looked inside the i-Telescopes, UK Schmidt, Faulkes 2m and 1m, AAO 3.9m and ANU 2.3m telescopes on Saturday.

On Sunday we went to the radio telescopes west of Narrabri.
