The skull bone is connected to the...

...NGC246.

After fighting with my mount all night (I had adjusted the backlash too severely and it was guiding "bumps" in the gears - MASSIVE oscillations), I managed just an hour on NGC246 before it dropped below the roof line.

This is my first NB-LRGB combine, so be gentle on me. At least all the subs lined up without issue this time around! Colours still need saturation in the stars, but I'll get there!

Focus was manual as usual (fitting Sharpsky today - YAY!), but fairly close this time - MaxIM 3D plot showed a NICE single cone, with only OCCASIONALLY a slight plateau (over-saturated).

I enjoyed this one, but still want to add another 3 hours on it, hopefully tonight. I imaged The Rosette Nebula for the rest of the morning (finishing the darks and bias run at EXACLY end of morning twilight.

DED108SS refractor (f/5), SBIG ST-8XE CCD with Astronomik filters.

I can see the background GX's in my original greyscale, but harder in the RGB combine...

Only uploading a small sample to hide my lack of data ;P

We've all been there Lewis. Nice to get a result despite the setbacks - that's the spirit.

Greg.

Not bad Lewis; easily good enough to withstand the scrutiny of a slightly larger image

David, your confidence in my fledgling LRGB-Ha "skills" is over-whelming, so...
