ascom + windows 8 issue with TSX

Hello, having replaced my defunct lappie with a windows 8 device, I now can't get ascom dome control to talk to either TSX or via Maxim Dl to the The Sky X pro.
This all worked fine on the windows 7 machine.
It loads the paramount scope controlled by The Sky X pro driver, it ( Ascom Dome control- I use it as a hub) the says The SKy X is not set up for scripting or something along those lines.
Very frustrating as I like to run Maxim along side TSX with camera control and plate solving with Maxim.
I have the latest ASCOM pack 6 Sp 2?
I have installed the latest builds of TSX.
I down loaded the driver for TSX from the ascom site but not the one which says you don't need for a paramount.
Help please
graz
