Last Light for the Trusty DSI.

I think I'm going to give in to the upgrade bug and retire the old DSI Pro III.

2 min subs is all that it is really good for any more and the thermal noise takes over.

But I'm happy with PixInsight 1.8 and the ATM 16 they are really getting everything out of the old photon bucket.

Helix for a test run of PixInsight. 30x2min subs RGB

Nice and clear. Enjoy your new camera and what scope did you image that with?

Thanks Mark.

It is my ATM scope with a floating upper cage to reduce distance from the secondary to the camera with a GSO 16 f4.5 with a 70mm secondary, on my ATM horse shoe. Still sorting out the smaller gremlins but working well.

Thanks Rick.

I have the latest PixInsight on demo and it is working flawlessly and fast at this stage. I haven't done anything different with the install this time around so cross fingers it stays that way. It has got me stumped why it was crashing and Pleiades are not aware of any issues with my previous configuration. Thanks again for prompting me to look at their software again.
