Six and a half sisters

Here's 10x10min I grabbed on M45 the last morning of my imaging session at the house. Same rig as my recent shot of Orion so same problems

This is a hard one for me to photograph. I never got it right. Still didn't this time. But there's hope. In insight I also should rotate the camera 90 degrees hey?

Big one here [3MB]. Thanks for looking.

Yup. I've got dark, bright circles, color gradients and reflections. I don't do things in halves. I left the nosepiece with the glass window on the QHY8 which I always remember to remove. Not this time. So massive glow in the middle which I've tried to tone down.

Not bad Marc for 100mins. If you are using filtered imaging try LBBRGB as a formula for this one.

You are also getting some of the dust areas so that's good for only 100mins.

Greg.

That's an OSC Greg, no filters. Next time I'll be setup to do a proper one.

Beaucoup de beignets...niam niam

Lots of detail despite the problems. Get it sorted, and it's going to be a great system.

Great image Marc I an a big fan of diffraction spikes they need sharp focus and prove a bit of physics every time they appear.

I understand forgetting things I have been out of the picture astronomy imaging wise for a few years and the obvious mistakes are being made regularly. Coupled to that I've jumped up in focal length and aperture.

I would be pleased to get 5 sisters alas every time I go to get a photo of them or the Tarantula I make real Elma Fud type rogerings of the session.

Thanks Justin. I'm the same . I tend to forget stuff. It's getting worse. Ah yeah... the calling of the Tarantula on the opposite side of the sky. Guilty too. I got that one over two nights - still processing. Not looking too good though.

Thanks Rick. I reckon too. I got a better image scale with this scope on the OSC and the RGB channels have a good resolution equally.

Images of M45 look much better with diffraction spikes IMO

Yeah, a few wonky issues but otherwise a really good looking image there..for an NBN denier that is

Hi Marc,

The potential for a great looking photo with a bit more colour.

Very sharp and detailed.

Excellent composition and I love the vertical diffraction spikes.

Good luck with it.

Ross.

Thanks mate. As you know I've been banging my head against the wall on this one for years but I reckon once I have the nosepiece removed I can go deep and get a really cool shot of it. It certainly has the right aperture and image scale. This year is the year That or I'll buy a helmet.

Some nice details in the nebula Marc for an OSC / 100 mins even with your problems!
