LMC in infrared

This one is about 45x10min that I captured over 3 nights from home with an IR filter/QHY9 and a 100mm lens in 10min subs. I Did a IR - IR/LUM - LUM blend with an old color shot I had with a 200mm lens from last year. Greyscaled it then did the palette.

I've got the full field here in higher res. [2.9MB]
More stars than nebulosity. You still can make up the tarantula on the center top of the field.

Thanks for looking.

That is Awesome Marc!

Just looking at the large version, a stunning amount of detail!
Never realised there is so much away from the main body of LMC.

Cheers,

Justin.

A nice wide field of view. Odd look with the blue nebula but I gather that is the IR view.

Thanks Paul. Most of the nebulosity is cut of at 750nm and over so you're left with stars and a lot of open clusters.

Yeah not much choice with the moon up. And this one is just above the M5/M7 intersection on my South horizon. I can't even get it in Ha these days.

Hmm that's interesting - thanks for sharing, Marc. I see that you've captured NGC 1763 near the bottom corner too
