Synscan screen not working - any ideas?

Hi everyone.

My new AZ EQ6 hand control has developed a fault. Worked fine for a couple of weeks.
The screen does not display characters, but the backlight works. As far as I can tell the mount is fine. If I enter through the startup menus blindly, the mount will still slew, so I suppose the controller works, but no display - making it useless!

I tried downgrading, then upgrading the firmware, but no good.

Has anyone seen this problem before? I'd like to know if there is a hard reset or something I could try as a last resort. Otherwise I'll send it back for warranty.

Thanks.

Sounds like a hardware fault to me, I'd be taking it back to have it fixed/replaced under warranty.

That doesn't seem to do anything. Screen comes on, as in backlit red, but nothing displayed. I wasn't upgrading at the time, I was just going through the initial setup when it died.
Seems like everything is working underneath, so I figure some piece of circuitry that sends signal to the display has malfunctioned.

The cable between the hand controller and the mount can be the cause
of a number of hand controller and/or mount malfunctions. It is worth
recrimping the connectors on both ends of the cable before looking elsewhere for your problem. This cable problem is so common that
Andrews had some made up locally. From memory I think they charge
about $25 for them. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the input folks.
Have sent it back for replacement. I just wanted to check it wasn't a common fault with a quick fix.
Cheers.
