The Wolf with a DSLR

This is my second project with a newly acquired 130mm f5 newtonian - SL17 in Scorpius, which Paul Haese has named "The Wolf" (see here). Possibly the first published shot dedicated to this new target with OSC...?

This image is comprised of 129 x 4min subs with a modded 1000D at ISO1600, captured over three nights. Processed with Pixinsight

Hires here: http://www.astrobin.com/full/55454/C/?

I actually collected another three nights worth of subs using a different camera (a modded 400D) on this scope which would have brought my total integration to nearly 15 hours, but silly me didn't check the collimation for the second session and unfortunately none of those subs are usable. Live and learn i guess.

I found this a tricky one to balance the busy star field with the dark and emission nebulosity. Anyway - comments most welcome

You're getting good at this Richard, slightly weird star shapes aside...at this scale this is an excellent looking image, well done

Love it - easily see his tail even.

Yourself and Justin really are putting DSLR astrophotography firmly on the map.
