Old data, PixInsighted :)

Took all the data I had on M8 - which accumulated to about 2 hours worth, and batch processed it with the PI script. Then proceeded to fiddle around with it.

Astrobin: http://www.astrobin.com/full/53547/B/?

Still need mucho more data, but it's a heck of an improvement - IMHO - over my former DSS and PS job! Not loving the stars though, nor the framing either (too cropped at bottom when I collected the data)

I still like PS to tweak colours better than PI. It's not quite a Sidonio though.

Vixen FL102S
SXVR-M25C OSC CCD
PixInsight batch integrated/calibrated, initial PI stretch, with PS 5 to finish the job.

Learning PI is fun, yet also frustrating at times.

Just a couple of redux

Astrobin:
1.http://www.astrobin.com/full/53550/?mod=none

2.http://www.astrobin.com/full/53552/?mod=none

Kinda like the contrasty 2nd one. Belies the fact these were all imaged with a 102mm refractor from a severely light polluted suburban driveway

Not bad but all your stars are clipped.

Thanks Marc, and I have tried another redux, hopefully not adversely clipping this time, and restrained colour and tonal variation:

Thanks.

Really hard to balance it out with the buzzillion lumen of light pollution affecting it. Wasn't sure if the gold stars were sodium vapour LP or not sometimes
