Star Analyser - Bintel Ads

It's good to see that Bintel are give some great advertising space to the Star Analyser grating.
This grating (and the Rainbow Optics) provides an ideal starting point for amateur astronomers interested in spectroscopy.

Yep, good stuff Ken. Great that they mention visual use as well - with a drive to obtain scientifically-useful spectra by amateurs it's easy to forget that these gratings can be good fun & instructive when simply whacked in an eyepiece!

Cheers -

Yeah!
Visual astronomical spectroscopy can be interesting (and challenging)
If, and when, you try it, it brings home very clearly the problems faced by the early spectroscopists like Secchi and Huggins. For almost thirty years all stellar spectroscopy was done by eye. Amazing.
