M16 - my last bit of data from astrofest - a bald eagle

a shot comprised only of 10x150sec shots stacked in Astrofx then processed in pixinsight 1.8. probably pushed it too far but what the heck. I can see how a mono camera would pull out the sharpness in the details in this area, a OSC has no hope. I would have loved more data but for some stupid reason I went off chasing some other area. I should have stayed on task

BTW this is the full frame from the Celestron Nightscape OSC n the C11 with hyperstar 3

A bit more focal length might have helped too but it's interesting to see in a wider field.

A big positive is that you seem to have the Hyperstar well collimated. The stars seem pretty regular edge-to-edge.

This is manipulating your jpeg, so not the best way to do it, and starts inducing artifacts.

Arh yes the curse of the hyperstar, its soooo tempting to slew all over the sky, I have been guilty of this

you're dead right there, maybe a converted f3 to f9 scope may work

Peter i didnt touch the collimation one bit - that was part of the problem for all the other shots. i do wonder if the unit did slop around or sag

well you get that with very small 40% jpegs. it looks cr@p now

more time may have made some more difference but the OSC is not the tool to get this - I am slowly learning
