Why are my pictures so blue?

I am using a canon 60D with a SW ED120.These pics were 5min exposures at iso800 , total exposures 2hrs.I have posted below one of the Raw pictures, one of the stack of 25 and the result of hue and saturation adjustments in Photoshop. Any suggestions why the raw pictures are so blue ? I am using auto white balance in the camera, would one of the other settings help? I think the raw image looks quite good but after stacking is different.

Philip,
Your images posted look spot on at all the stages, your RAW is as my 450D would see the same object. Remember with a camera which has not had a mod carried out you will not see the reds as well.
Your stacked image looks good, you can slide the saturation in is DSS or do as you have done in your post processing.
Your final image looks spot on a really good shot. Auto white balance is fine as it will not make a great amount of difference as you can tell DSS to reset white balance during processing, Nebulosity does not even use white balance.

Hope this helps, worry to much a great final image.

Carl

Hi Carl, thanks for your help, how do you tell DSS to reset white balance during processing? I was a bit perplexed when I had to move the hue slider in PS to the left rather than to the right to get the more desirable result?

Also can white balance be adjusted as a batch process prior to DSS using canons photo studio professional software?

Yep, its all good Phillip - the unmodded camera sees a fair amount of oxygen with a blueish glow as the red H2 isn't picked up quite as strongly. Astrophotography is a pretty subjective artform sometimes anyway. Its just that you're used to seeing all those CCD shots. On some objects the standard "palette" from a DSLR is very pleasing (e.g. planetary nebs).
Here's an M8 through my Newt - basically same story as what Carl has told you.

Philip,
Please see image attached for screen shot to answer your question. I know it states for modded DSLR but it works great on a standard camera to. The link below is to a standard non modded 450D I processed about 3 hours ago using this setting.

Hope this helps
