Observing Ladder

After getting the 20", most of my observing now takes place up a ladder. The problem with typical ladders is that the rungs are usually 30cm apart, which means you spend about 50% of your time either stretching or bending over to see in the eyepiece, neither of which is a safe activity when tired and cold in the dark at 2am!!
So I decided to have a go at building a "Half Step" ladder with rungs 15cm apart. Build is basically complete just the bolts attaching the back supports have to be upgraded,a bit more sanding, a coat or 2 of varnish and anti slip tread put on the rungs.
Next part will be a possible chart table to attach to the top.

very nice Malcolm, don't make the rungs too slippery with the varnish!

Thanks Niko
They will be varnished and then some marine grade anti slip treads covering the rungs so will be very safe.
