Won first prizes in photo comps-canon G1X and telescope.

I had some family and friends suggest I should enter some photo comps a while back.I generally avoid such things-as I just enjoy photography, and I feel I am not all that good at it.But they kept at me,so posted entries to keep them happy, and forgot about it.

But today-a friend called in with a 'Sporting Shooter' magazine-they have a monthly photo/story comp, and I'd won first prize! a Redfield spotting scope 20-60 variable-made in USA,so that will be useful for bird watching. (if your in a news agent have a look at the August issue of sporting shooter page 58 for my photo and story)-I cannot post image here (unfortunately)

I did another photo shoot recently, and some of those images went very far, including winning a Canon G1X (sorry folks cannot post those either-ned flanders would have a fit),but some of the senior photographers here have seen and given a big thumbs up,I've even ended up with paying jobs in that field.

Thank you both. Both images are in completely different arenas, and took a bit of thinking to get them both right,it really was a surprise to win such good prizes, but enjoyed the challenge of getting everything just right in frame-the two people in each photo are both very happy too.Yes-its a shame I cannot post the images.
